If
elected, how do you plan on making your
mark as the newest member of the Clifton
City Council?
The creation
oft he Action Committee has afforded
neighborhood representatives like myself
the opportunity to meet with and bring
our concerns directly to all city department
heads. I'd like to take this a step
further. If I were elected, I would
organize neighborhood meetings with
city leaders to further open up the
lines of communication with the citizens.
Besides
Board of Education issues, what do you
see as the most pressing issue facing
the City of Clifton and what solution
do you propose?
The issue
that most significantly impacts the
average citizen in Clifton are the rising
taxes. People are worried that they
may not be able to afford to stay in
their homes. I am open to new and creative
ways of obtaining outside revenues,
such as utilizing a grant-writer and
or lobbyist for Clifton. I will support
smart development projects that increase
revenue while minimally impacting the
surrounding community.
What
is your opinion on resident's right
to speak at public portions of council
meetings? Should there be restrictions
or limitations on their comments?
I believe
every resident has the right to speak
on any issue they feel is important
during the public portion of city council
meetings.
What
is your opinion on Clifton's current
form of government and how do you feel
about recent moves by an outside interest
to finance a campaign to change Clifton's
form of government?
It
has been my contention that if there
were to be any move to change Clifton's
form of government, then it should be
initiated by the people of Clifton.
If the people of Clifton desired a change,
I certainly would not stand in the way.
